  • OUI is Israel's largest university; student enrollment soars to 45,000; 2,534 graduate in  2008.

  • OUI's Shoham and Chais Research Centers raise OUI to position of a world leader in educational technologylive sessions broadcast via the internet from Ra’anana campus to 20 classrooms across the country and students’ homes.
  • OUI's PE'ER Opening the Treasures of the Mind surpasses M.I.T.’s Open CourseWare Consortium by providing internet access to course textbooks, accompanying material, lesson plans, presentations and other learning aids free of charge; Phase II, currently in progress, will serve as a model for entry into other regions of the globe, including Asia.
  • Project Russia reaches a milestone, graduating 9 students from its 21-course program serving over 6,000 students residing in over 300 cities, towns and villages across the Former Soviet Union.
  • Haredi Program enrollment reaches new heights as approximately 100 Ultra-Orthodox students add secular academic studies to their Yeshiva studies.
